Olarro Luxury Lodge

Olarro is an artistically styled retreat situated in the Loita Hills of south-western Kenya. Lying within a 10,000 hectare private conservancy, Olarro is surrounded by 150 000 acres of Maji Moto Group Ranch which is owned by the local Maasai people. Uniquely designed to blend in with the surrounding rolling hills, the lodge is built with flowing curves. The rooms are a serene white complemented by earth tone accessories and furnishings.

Meals are prepared using the finest, fresh ingredients and are served either in the Northern Lounge or at a poolside table under the stars. The swimming pool is a series of small, inter-linked pools, providing guests with privacy and the ideal place for a cool dip to escape the heat of the African sun. There is an adjoining Spa that offers a full range of
treatments and services – an ideal way to relax at the end of the day.

The 2-storey building boasts a fully equipped kitchen and massage room on the lower level and a large lounge, dining area and sundeck on the upper level.

Olarro Camp comprises of 8 African style cottages with grass thatch roofs. The cottages are constructed using only local materials. Each cottage has en suite showers and toilets.

For those guests seeking total privacy and exclusivity, Little Olarro is a private house located a short distance from the main lodge. It has a luxury suite with a master bedroom, a smaller twin bedroom, lounge, dining area and veranda, all offering stunning views of the Loita plains. Little Olarro has its own entrance and deck area. The Deck Lounge is the private lounge exclusively for guests at Little Olarro. The two storey structure houses a fully-equipped kitchen and massage room on the lower level and a spacious lounge, dining area and sundeck on the upper level, affording breathtaking views of the Loita plains.

What Olarro offers in luxury it does not compromise on ethics. Set within locally-owned Masai lands, Olarro aims to create a self-sustaining tourist operation which simultaneously improves the standard of living for the local Masai community. Olarro currently has in place a 20-year community assistance plan, comprising of initiatives involving education, health, water, sanitation and alternate energy.
